Claire was brought up in Aberdyfi from the age of six and is very much part of the village. As a child she was encouraged to paint and draw by her father, watercolour artist Edward Morris. Following teacher training in physical education and art, Claire taught for three years in Hong Kong before deciding to pursue painting as a full time career. She took over the Gallery in 1982 having been drawn back to the area by the rich scenery of both land and seascape, which provide the inspiration of her watercolours.

Over the years Claire has experimented with the use of colour and has recently produced some vibrant acrylic ink paintings, although watercolour is still the her favourite medium.

In 1992 Glyn and Claire launched a range of cards which expands annually.

Claire is happiest painting on location and can often be seen, pallette in hand, producing the work which is displayed a few days later in The Gallery.
